Maybole is a town and former burgh of barony in South Ayrshire of roughly. It had 4,580 residents. It is situated roughly 9 miles south of Ayr, about 21 miles west of Cumnock, and 50 miles southwest of Glasgow.

From Ayr, there’s a wider choice of train services. There are some local bus routes in operation, but for easier and quicker travel residents must rely on car.
In terms of amenities and things to do, the High Street has a variety of local shops and services from newsagents to a bakery, pharmacy, cafes, pubs, takeaways; all the things you would expect. In and around the High Street there are some stunning old buildings which are a draw for visitors and locals alike. Notable mentions include the Town Hall built in 1887, and Maybole Castle, believed to be the town’s oldest inhabited house, dating back to around 1560. Maybole also acts as a popular stop off point for visitors traveling to see Culzean Castle, roughly 5 miles to the west, now located in the stunning grounds of Culzean Country Park. The castle is now managed by the National Trust for Scotland and is perched on a rocky cliff overlooking the Firth of Clyde.
As for local education, the town has three primary schools: Cairn Primary, Gardenrose Primary and St Cuthberts Primary. The secondary school for Maybole is Carrick Academy.
